You listen to music?

Philosophy aside, I enjoy things

I like being by myself in my free time. I often walk around alone and enjoy taking time just to take things in. I believe we live in moments of stillness. That being said, I’ve been to a couple parties.

One thing I am getting back into is music. I have tinnitus so learning how to play has always been a challenge for me. Despite that, I had learned acoustic guitar for a couple months before sustaining some injuries. A nylon 6 string. Currently I have a cheap amp and electric guitar just to keep on top of what I am able when I am able (a lot less often that I would like). The equipment is there and I am just following the process (and again it is a lot less often than I would like).

I enjoy reading literature. One of my favorite books is Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. I had gotten into transcendental philosophy in high school thanks to an introduction of Ralph Waldo Emerson and his essay Self Reliance. I would recommend Self Reliance to anyone who would like to turn a spark of life potential into a reality:

Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life's cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another you have only an extemporaneous half possession. That which each can do best, none but his Maker can teach him.” (Emerson, Self Reliance)

Finally, I recommend everyone watch Fight Club at least once.

You live your best life when you realize you have only one.
